Event supporting leisure and tourism businesses
Gloucestershire businesses dependent on tourism will benefit from the experience of some of the county's finest communicators at a special networking event in Cheltenham, organised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).
This informal networking event – 6pm on Wednesday 12 November at the Cheltenham Regency Hotel – will bring together PR and marketing specialists and owner/managers interested in the county's tourism and leisure sector.
"For many local businesses, their location is part of what they are selling – whether that's a visitor attraction, hotels, pubs and restaurants, or local food and drink where provenance is key," says Sarah Bryars, managing director of Target Public Relations and member of the CIPR.
"This event is not exclusively for PR and marketing professionals working in leisure and tourism. It will offer the opportunity to meet a variety of people facing similar challenges, share best practise and hear how some of the region's finest tourism communicators conduct successful marketing campaigns."
The speaker programme includes Graham Walker, recently-appointed chief executive of Marketing Gloucester, who will talk about the challenges ahead in developing a new profile for the city; Chris Dee, tourism manager for the Cotswolds and Forest of Dean Destination Management Organisation; Kellie Lovett, marketing manager, Westonbirt Arboretum; and Sarah Bryars – who will outline the campaign for the Cotswolds & Forest of Dean flood recovery programme last autumn, shortlisted in this year's CIPR Awards. There will be opportunities for questions and general discussion.
To book a place on 12 November 2008 at the Cheltenham Regency Hotel, Gloucester Road, Staverton, 6-8pm – please contact ciprwestofengland@elizabethsnell.co.uk or call 01275 373 455. Cost: £10 for CIPR and CIM members and £15 for non-members, including refreshments. |
