news archive Target wins contract thank to Animal Magic

They say it's tough working with animals and children. But animal magic helped Cheltenham-based Target PR secure a new contract.

Target, based in Painswick Road, Cheltenham has been taken on by Improve International, one of the largest providers of veterinary training in Europe.

Improve International provides CPD (Continual Professional Development) training for vets and veterinary nurses. It has just moved into a new purpose-built conference centre in 20 acres of grounds at Alexandra House near Swindon and is transforming its HQ and training facilities.

One of the reasons Target secured the contract was thanks to its experience with related professions. It already works with the British Equestrian Federation, and Vets4Pets.

"We understand its audience and have good contacts with the veterinary trade press," said Target PR's Managing Director Sarah Bryars. "That's vital if a business wants its PR activity to work. It probably also helps that everyone at Target loves animals."

Target PR forms part of the Target Marketing Group, formed in 1977. The group's 16-strong team provides a public relations and creative service, including website design, corporate identity material, rebranding, advertising and direct marketing campaigns.

"This is an exciting project for us," said Sarah. "Improve International has expanded rapidly since its formation in 1998, and the move to new premises at Alexandra House is a big step in its business strategy.

"The organisation operates in a competitive market and recognises the importance of being top of mind when vets are looking at training options. It has an excellent reputation and now wants to put Improve International firmly on the map."

General Manager of Improve International, Nick Fowler said: "We're delighted to be working with Target. We've reached an exciting time in our business development and it's vital to get our publicity right as we expand."

The Improve International account will be run by Target Associate Director Sam Kandiyali, who joined Target in 1999.
