Target appointed a new chief executive and two new directors in February as part of its strategy for growth in its 30th birthday year.
Sarah Bryars and Zak McKinven have been appointed as directors of the company joining creative director Gerry Doran and Colin Spencer as the executive members of the Board.
"Sarah leads our public relations division and has been with the company since January 2005. She brings both experience and energy to the business and leads a talented team," says Colin Spencer, who moves from his position as financial director to become chief executive. "Zak is the head of the advertising division and has been with Target since December 1999, handling clients across sectors including retail and financial services. Zak, Gerry and their teams consistently deliver powerful campaigns with great results. The Board has great pride and confidence in them all." Colin Spencer, who joined Target in September 1994, will retain financial control of the company while supporting the divisional heads in his new role as chief executive. Colin explains, "Life as an agency can be tough. Our business has learned many lessons over 30 years and resilience is just one of them. With a new management team in place, we are re-focussing on the traditional core values of the business – namely marketing strategy and creativity in every communication discipline. "Target is now building on a position of strength with an impressive list of clients – including Avon Cosmetics, Ecclesiastical Insurance, GE Money, Nelson Thornes, Specsavers Opticians, Powergen and First Great Western – and a very talented hard working, committed work force. This strategy is already paying off with significant business gains over the past few months and some more excellent prospects in the pipeline."
