Integrated communications campaign
wins a silver
Target won a Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide silver award in the integrated communications category – for the Flood Recovery Programme on behalf of the Cotswolds & Forest of Dean Destination Management Organisation (DMO)
at a glittering CIPR event on 6 November.
The CIPR judges commented: "Working to a strict budget and very short timescale, Target PR managed to produce a well thought out and sustained campaign that achieved results beyond expectation. Images of 2007 Summer floods in Gloucestershire were replaced thanks to a creative integrated campaign that succeeded in achieving its goal to prove that the county is still very much 'open for business'. Using Gloucestershire Tea and Pub quizzes was particularly effective."
Lis Anderson, Chair of CIPR West of England, said: "To win a CIPR PRide Award is a tremendous achievement. This year's winners really do have something to shout about, having faced the highest number of entries and stiffest competition ever. A CIPR PRide Award is a hallmark of professionalism and success, marking the best in our profession out from the crowd."
Sarah Bryars, head of PR, Target, said: "We're really proud of the PR and advertising campaign we ran last year to support some of Gloucestershire's tourism businesses, who had been hit hard by the floods. Playing our part in contributing to the recovery was extremely rewarding for the Target team. Now to receive recognition from our peers across the PR industry is great."
