Graduate Challenge

In these challenging economic times, it's vital to help fresh out of college graduates get on the career ladder and give them a taste of work. The Economic Challenge Investment Fund is providing that opportunity as well as giving businesses a boost by offering them potential new talent all paid for by the Graduate Challenge scheme.

The task is to deliver 150 graduate placement opportunities into 100 local Gloucestershire businesses this year benefiting both employer and employee in these turbulent times. Target was briefed to communicate about the structured four month placements with local businesses, emphasising the commitment to invest in Gloucestershire's natural talent.

Bright, impactful posters, e-mailers, leaflets and press ads adopt the "fresh skills" message to both audiences and have real standout. The scheme is proving to be an overwhelming success with many students applying for placements and businesses wanting graduates. Many are now getting their first taste of work, with employers benefiting from the fresh skills they have to offer. It's a vibrant marketing approach delivering real results to the businesses and young graduates of Gloucestershire.

Penny Richards-Good, Marketing & Operations Manager, University of Gloucestershire says: "We loved Target's 'fresh skills' creative immediately. It's harnessed the energy and ingenuity of the Graduate Challenge itself and helped the programme get off to a cracking start!."
