news archive Sam's promotion makes Target directors an awesome foursome

Sam Kandiyali has become a Director of the Target Group, creating an awesome foursome at the head of the Cheltenham marketing and PR company.

Sam, 36, takes the helm alongside Chief Executive Colin Spencer, and two Managing Directors Sarah Bryars (PR) and Zak McKinven (Creativity) at Target's offices in Painswick Road, Cheltenham.

She joined Target in 1999 as an Account Executive, after working as a journalist for the Sheffield Telegraph and as a press officer for Sheffield City Council.

"I am delighted to have been asked to join the board of Target," said Sam, who was brought up in Worcestershire and went to Leeds University.

"It's unusual in our industry for employees to stay with agencies for long periods of time. It's a testament to Target that I've been with the company for 10 years, and have been able to work my way up from a junior position to board level.

"I'm looking forward to working alongside Colin, Sarah and Zak to help drive the business forward."

Colin Spencer praised Sam's contribution to the company. "She has been a valuable member of staff for more than 10 years. Her professionalism has been a real asset in developing the PR side of the business. And her experience will be of great benefit to the future of the Target Group."

The Target Group, formed in 1977, is a fully-integrated marketing communications agency, incorporating public relations, advertising, design, media, digital and direct marketing. It has 16 staff.
